Hydrotherapy: How to Take a Contrast Shower

A contrast shower can be used in acute illness to increase the circulation of blood, increase circulating white blood cells, and to boost the immune system. Use caution if you are frail or have advanced disease of the heart or nervous system. Use only 20 degrees difference in temperature if pregnant, diabetic, or have loss of sensation from any cause. If in any doubt, consult your physician regarding your concerns.
