Seeds are the epitome of potential and vitality, embodying everything necessary to reproduce life. This concept extends beyond botany into our culinary, nutritional, and even spiritual practices, offering a unique and holistic approach to total nourishment.

Seeds are nature's time capsules, storing all the genetic information and nutrients needed to sprout new life; a microcosm of potential, a promise of growth and renewal. This inherent vitality makes seeds and seed-bearing foods powerhouses of nutrition, packed with essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and healthy fats.

Foods that contain seeds are often nutritional all-stars. Here are a few examples:

Fruits: Apples, berries, grapes, and pomegranates are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber. They promote digestion, support immune function, and combat oxidative stress.

Whole Grains: Quinoa, buckwheat, and millet, although often categorized differently, are essentially seeds. They provide complex carbohydrates, fiber, and a range of essential amino acids, fueling the body with sustained energy and regulating hormones.

Vegetables: Peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes are loaded with vitamins A and C, potassium, and folate. They contribute to heart health, skin health, and overall vitality.

Nuts and Seeds: Almonds, chia seeds, flaxseeds, and pumpkin seeds are excellent sources of protein, healthy fats, and micronutrients like magnesium and zinc. They support brain function, heart health, and metabolic processes.

In our world today, there is considerable emphasis placed on sustainability. By focusing on foods that reproduce naturally, we encourage agricultural practices that are in harmony with the environment. Seed-bearing plants often require less intervention and promote biodiversity and encourage us to be more attuned to the cycles of growth and renewal, fostering a deeper appreciation for God and His Creation. Seeds symbolize the interconnectedness of all life, bringing together our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Embracing the Life of the Seed

In the tiny package of a seed lies the blueprint for life, a testament to the Creator’s incredible ingenuity and a very important nutrition principle: Nutrition is Life. Whatever we eat has the potential to produce life, aiding us in building up our immune system, organs, and health in general, or to breakdown the life forces. Eating living foods, foods with the seed, improves our health from our brains, to our bones, to our immune system.

There is one Seed that is the most important seed of all for Life and Health. We read about this Seed in Genesis 3:15: “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her Seed; It shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel.” Who is this powerful Seed?

Galatians 3:16 tells us, “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy Seed, which is Christ.” (See also John 8:58)

This is the Seed from Whom all Life originated. Luke 8:11 calls the Seed the Word of God. Who is the Word of God? John 1:1-4 tells us, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life.” And verse 14, further elaborates, “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” In the Word (Son) of God, Jesus Christ, is Life; unborrowed, underived (see Proverbs 4:20-23). He is our Creator (see also John 1:10; Colossians 1:16), the original Seed from which all other life springs. He alone has the ability to produce another life. When we take Him in, new Life and Health spring forth (2 Corinthians 5:17; John 3:3-6. Isaiah 58:8). He is the real Seed; the real Life (John 14:6). Without the seed humanity has no hope (Romans 9:29; John 5:39-40).

Behold the Seed: Who forgives all your sins, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction; Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, Who renews your energy like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:3-5).

This is the Seed that causes His face to shine upon us and shows us His Saving Health. (Psalm 67:1-2 KJV, See also Psalms 42:11; 43:5).
